Accounting Tech CEO Explains Why Every LinkedIn AI Discussion Is Really About Their Product

ISSUE NO. 18

Melbourne — A Melbourne accounting technology founder has clarified that most discussions about artificial intelligence on LinkedIn are, when examined carefully, actually about his company’s product.

Lachlan Reeves, chief executive of accounting automation startup LedgerPilot, said he regularly contributes to LinkedIn conversations to help professionals understand the practical implications of AI for accounting.

“There’s a lot of discussion happening,” Reeves said. “Lots of perspectives. Lots of hot takes. But when you zoom out and really analyse what people are saying about automation, compliance, and financial operations, you realise they are usually describing the exact category of problems our platform solves.”

LinkedIn users say Reeves’ contributions appear beneath a wide range of posts mentioning artificial intelligence, automation, accounting software, or digital transformation.

The responses often begin with enthusiastic agreement before transitioning into an explanation of what Reeves describes as LedgerPilot’s “agentic accounting workflow layer.”

One recent comment posted beneath a discussion about the risks of AI in financial services read:

Great discussion here! 🚀

AI is transforming accounting.

But here’s the real question.

Are firms ready for agentic workflows that unlock productivity while maintaining compliance across the modern financial stack?

At LedgerPilot we’re already seeing this shift.

Game changer. 🔥

Observers say similar responses have appeared beneath posts discussing AI regulation, the future of professional services, and even general commentary about technology.

“It doesn’t really matter what the original post is about,” said one consultant. “Within a few minutes the thread becomes an explanation of LedgerPilot.”

Reeves confirmed that he tries to contribute wherever relevant discussions are taking place.

“If people are talking about AI in accounting, that’s naturally a conversation about the infrastructure needed to support it,” he said. “Which is what we’re building.”

Users who engage with Reeves’ comments report receiving a follow-up direct message shortly afterwards expanding on the topic.

“Thanks for engaging with the discussion,” the message typically begins, before outlining the platform’s architecture and providing a link to schedule a demonstration.

Several users reported receiving the same message even when their only interaction with the thread was clicking “like.”

Reeves also maintains an active presence on LinkedIn, posting daily reflections about the future of accounting technology. Recent updates have included posts titled “AI Is Changing Accounting,” “Why Agentic Workflows Matter,” and “The Hidden Problem With Accounting Automation.”

Many posts conclude with Reeves tagging a dozen other professionals who were not involved in the discussion and inviting them to weigh in.

“Thoughts?”

Engagement has remained modest. One recent post received three likes, including one from Reeves himself and another from the company’s official LinkedIn page.

A third like appeared to come from an account identified as LedgerPilot Marketing.

Reeves said the posts are intended to contribute to the professional conversation.

“LinkedIn is where the dialogue about AI is happening,” he said. “It’s important to be part of that dialogue.”

At the conclusion of the interview, Reeves followed up with the reporter via LinkedIn to say he appreciated the discussion and would be happy to demonstrate LedgerPilot’s platform.

“Great conversation today,” the message began.

“Let me know if you’d like to see how we’re solving this.”
