Law Firm Spices Up Bios With Fun Facts, Proves Partners Are Just as Dull as Everyone Suspected

BRISBANE — In an effort to make its lawyers appear more approachable, Jansen & Moore has added “fun facts” to all staff biographies on its website. The results, however, have been underwhelming.
Visitors can now learn that one partner “likes green smoothies,” another “enjoys hiking,” and a third has “once patted the office dog.” According to insiders, these details were selected after a two-week brainstorming session and three rounds of partner voting.
“Clients will be reassured to know their matter is in the hands of someone who enjoys Pilates,” said the firm’s marketing manager, who declined to answer whether any lawyers actually had interesting hobbies.
The initiative has sparked controversy among associates, who argue that “fun facts” about hobbies are misleading. “One partner’s bio says she’s passionate about travel,” said one junior lawyer. “That just means she once flew to a mining conference in Perth.”
