What makes an action right or wrong? Is professional conduct ethical simply because it complies with legal standards and firm policies, or should we critically examine the principles behind our decisions? These are the same questions explored in Euthyphro, where Socrates challenges whether morality is determined by authority or by deeper ethical reasoning.
In the legal profession, bullying, discrimination, and harassment (BDH) can be rationalized under the guise of workplace hierarchy, firm culture, or the pressures of legal practice. Using Euthyphro as a framework, we will challenge assumptions about authority, morality, and justice in the legal profession—raising the question: Do we follow the law because it is right, or is it right simply because the law says so?
This session will satisfy the Mandatory CPD requirement of bullying.
